HDPE, not landscape edging
North Texas sun is hard on recycled sheet. Joints are where cheap Dallas barriers fail.
We install virgin HDPE panels. Common depths on this metro: 24 inch for many HOA parkways, 30–36 for a serious plate, deeper for beams and laterals. Commercial islands get thicker sheet. Bamboo gets a closed loop and an above-grade lip.

Why cheap sheet fails in Dallas–Fort Worth
North Texas sun makes recycled liner brittle. Joints are where roots thread a gap the width of a card. Landscape edging is a mow line, not a wall. 2000s “barriers” we pull in Plano and North Dallas are often twelve inches deep with no lock. Replacement is a new trench to the plate that is actually there now.
Blackland clay opens a void if you dump spoil behind the face. We pack in lifts. A panel hanging in air is not a barrier, no matter what the mill stamp says.
What we will not install as a walk or slab wall
Geotextile fabric is a bed product. It is not a substitute for a wall next to a slab or a walk. Chemical barriers are not how we isolate a Plano parkway oak. Thin roll edging will not stop a cedar elm flare.
